Robert Francis O’Rourke is a bigger zero than Bathhouse Barry Obama but at least he has the balls to say the Constitution is no longer relevant.
It will be interesting to see if the drive-by media builds him up or lets him fall flat on his face in the 2020 DemocRat nomination battle.
How do you win the White House in 2020?
Step one: Trash Trump for shredding America’s way of life.
Step two: Campaign against the Constitution.
Step three: President!
Sure, it sounds insane. But Beto O’Rourke, Obama’s heir apparent, is already halfway there.
He said as much in his first big interview with the Washington Post as a would-be savior of his party—and America.
“Can an empire like ours with [a] military presence in over 170 countries around the globe, with trading relationships… and security agreements in every continent, can it still be managed by the same principles that were set down 230-plus years ago?”
Yes, those words came out of his mouth. No gaffe. No accident. He wouldn’t answer his own incendiary question. Probably because it’s the kind of question you don’t ask unless you’re already darn well sure what you want the answer to be.
And this before the campaign has even heated up.
Beto knows. He knows that, as Obama’s whiter, gentler mini-me, he’s got to reclaim the mantle of “fundamentally changing” America with a boyish grin and a gangly wave.
He knows that America’s founding principles have been bent but not broken by a hundred-odd years of so-called “progressivism”—the bureaucratic bloat, the cult of “leadership,” and the endless attacks on federalism that have defined his party’s politics since long before he was a gleam in his daddy’s eye.
He also knows that even today’s level of progressivism is now just taken for granted by the Left. This is the new normal. Obama’s social positions when he was elected were barbaric and repressive by the time he left office. Now it’s not social justice unless it’s revolution after revolution.
And the granddaddy of all the Left’s revolutionary dreams is getting that dusty old Constitution off their backs.
It’s bad enough all those dead white guys wrote it. It’s even worse it hasn’t failed on its own. And worst of all, it’s a sure-fire way to organize staunch opposition to the Left’s most grandiose plans. America’s still full of Americans who cling to the founding document as tight as to any gun.
But how many voters read the Washington Post? How many know to take seriously the fashionable ramblings of the latest undercooked wunderkind being pushed from the inside toward the White House?
How many dare imagine that the same goofball who disparages the current president for being a lawless traitor thinks he shouldn’t be sworn to uphold and protect the Constitution of the United States?
Voters need to know. They need to know this is Obama’s guy.
And they need to do something about it now. Before a single vote is cast. Before the media’s Saint Beto campaign begins.
Before it’s too late.
