H/T Clash Daily.
The gutless nutless RINO’s fight against President Trump harder than they would any DemocRat.
When Romney *asked* for Trump’s support for his Senate bid, Trump looked past Romney’s past personal attacks and backed him. This is how Romney repays a favor.
Can we all finally admit that Romney might outwardly play the role of choirboy, but play the part of the unscrupulous swamp rat just as well as anyone else in DC?
As critics who’ve watched his politics unfold, he’s taken both sides of most major issues — depending on which one would get him where he wanted to go. Liberal and pro-choice in Mass, pro-life when trying to be POTUS, as one of many examples.
He denounced Trump on moral grounds when Trump was on the campaign trail in 2016. Then he applied for a job in his administration (denied) and asked for his endorsement in 2018 (it was given).
Literally on Day One of his time in Senate, the knives came out for Trump in a WaPo op ed.
Stay classy, Mittens. Where was this fire when Democrats were setting fire to the Constitution?
“You said that Republicans need to get tougher and fight,” a reporter said to Trump. “What are you talking about, Mr. President?”
“Well, I think the Democrats fight dirty. I think the Democrats are lousy politicians with lousy policy,” Trump responded. “They want open borders. They don’t care about crime. They want sanctuary cities. They don’t care about drugs. They don’t care about almost anything. They don’t care about USMCA.”
“I think they’re lousy politicians. But two things they have: They’re vicious and they stick together,” Trump continued. “They don’t have Mitt Romney in their midst. They don’t have people like that. They stick together. You never see them break off. You never see somebody go out and [do their own thing].”
Trump isn’t wrong, here.
Early this year, when someone with an R after his name made a disparaging statement offensive to Jewish people, Republicans censured him and removed him from that committee.
But when members of the Squad did the same thing, what did the Democrats do? Did they censure their member? Of course not. Was she removed from her Committee? Nope. They reworked the ‘rebuke’ so that it was a milktoast statement condemning ‘hate’ generally.
Yesterday, when a motion to censure Schiff came up, the Democrats just kicked it aside, no matter HOW egregious his behavior has been.
But Republicans just can’t seem to come together on the same page when it comes time to clash with the Left… even when they are pushing an obviously partisan #Resistance movement.
He held up judicial appointments (some of which we lost) simply because he wanted to pass legislation forbidding Trump to fire Mueller. Strictly speaking, Congress has ZERO Constitutional authority over hirings and firings (beyond advice and consent) of the Executive branch. Who was the REAL partisan tyrant there?
And for what? Did Trump do ANYTHING to interfere with the process? Or did he let it play out completely unhindered?
Now that they took a Mulligan on Russian Collusion and we’re REPLAYING that game with the Schiff Show replacing Muller, it’s time for the Republicans to wake up and stop the insanity.
The Democrats pledged on Day One that they would ‘RESIST’ Trump’s presidency. They have been true to their word.
Does OUR side have any stomach for the fight? Or are they going to roll over while the Democrats hijack the American Experiment?
During the Impeachment fiasco, Democrats have been invoking the phrase ‘A Republic — if you can keep it’.
So, Republicans, Just HOW hard will you fight to keep it?
