Little Bobby O’Rourke is being seen for what hs says and does being bullshi!.
Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke was in Newtown, Connecticut on Wednesday meeting with gun control activists and holding a town hall on gun control at the town’s community center. While O’Rourke received a warm welcome from members of Moms Demand Action and the Newtown Action Alliance, he also got an an earful from one Newtown resident.
“They’re here to hijack this town and to try to make an issue out of getting guns out of good peoples’ hands that can make a difference,” Rebecca Carnes said.
Carnes accused O’Rourke of politicizing the issue of gun-related violence, saying ,”this is bull****. It’s about mental health and it’s about this war on boys and masculinity. You’re bull**** for being here. Shame on you, Beto.”
Carnes went on to ask O’Rourke what he had to say about mental health and urban violence.
“You don’t care. The Democrats have been in charge of urban communities and cities for decades. The Democrats have failed. They don’t care about you sir. That’s why he’s at Sandy Hook. He doesn’t care. It’s bull****.”
Eventually Carnes left, but not before telling the crowd to vote for Donald Trump next year.
Meanwhile, O’Rourke apparently said nothing to Carnes in response. In fact, according to local media reports, he didn’t have much to say at all.
Although O’Rourke didn’t discuss any specific policies during the meeting, he said he will enforce stricter gun laws if elected.
Yeah, he keeps saying that, but he won’t explain how he’ll enforce those stricter gun laws. Or rather, his explanations change from day to day and from setting to setting. One day he may proclaim that if you don’t hand in your guns, police will go to your home. The next day, he might tell you that if you don’t hand in your guns, you could store them at a hunt club or gun range.
O’Rourke claimed he came to Newtown, “not to pitch myself not to lay on a platform, not to campaign, but to listen to the people of Newtown.” That’s nonsense. Everything O’Rourke does these days is about campaigning, including his stop in the Connecticut town that was the site of the murders at Sandy Hook Elementary School. If it wasn’t about campaigning, the press wouldn’t have been invited to the “closed door meeting”. Heck, if it wasn’t about campaigning, he wouldn’t have brought his campaign staff along. The simple fact is that Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke traveled to Newtown so he could use the community as a backdrop for his continued calls for gun control. He just wasn’t expecting to get called out on it.
“I know that the people of this community understand this better than perhaps any other community in this country and not just the devastation and grief and loss but what those solutions are,” said O’Rourke.
Even in Newtown, Connecticut O’Rourke found that not everyone agrees with his so-called solutions. We can’t ban our way to safety, and that’s ultimately the solution that O’Rourke is demanding; give up your rights, give up your guns, and in return criminals and madmen will somehow be stopped. As Rebecca Carnes said during his town hall meeting, that’s bull****.
