Boebert’s Gun Wall On Zoom Call Upsets Usual Suspects

H/T Bearing Arms.

Some snowflake got their feelings hurt.

If the pandemic and ensuing lockdowns did nothing else, they showed us just how unhinged some people are about guns. After all, while it might be understandable if people are nervous if guns are physically present with them, we’ve seen a number of people freak out about the mere visual of a gun on a video stream like a Zoom meeting.

Nevermind that at this time there are absolutely no rounds that can be fired from someone’s home, travel through the internet and strike a person on the other end of a video stream. Reality plays no factor in these hysterics.

The latest person to run afoul of this insane sense of decorum? Rep. Lauren Boebert of Colorado.

A Republican member of the US Congress raised eyebrows on Thursday when she appeared at a Zoom committee meeting with an arsenal of guns strategically displayed in her background.

Representative Lauren Boebert was among the lawmakers attending an organizing meeting of the House Natural Resources Committee being held by video because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

When Boebert appeared on camera from her home, she was seated in front of a bookshelf which featured at least three rifles and a handgun.

OH NOES!!!! THE HORROR!!!!

I mean, the idea that a pro-gun member of Congress might have firearms is just so terrible!!!

<Insert eye roll here>

Moving on…

“I always thought my dirty dishes piled up and accumulating bacteria were the most dangerous thing in a Zoom background,” tweeted a Democratic member of the committee, Representative Katie Porter.

Heh. Good one. </sarcasm>

Honestly, this is beyond ridiculous. Boebert wasn’t on the floor of Congress. She was in a private office, apparently at her home. However, the problem for some is that anti-gunners can’t handle the mere appearance of a firearm in private hands. They’re fine with them in movies, of course, but that’s different. That’s Hollywood and they love them some Hollywood.

But Boebert’s firearms represent no threat to absolutely anyone.

For some, though, Boebert’s firearms were a prop, a shrine, apparently something placed there just to make a point.

Boebert, however, disagrees.

Of course, some just couldn’t resist trying to get a dig in at Boebert.

Of course, considering what all they’re going through right now, The Lincoln Project really should sit this one out. And the next one. And the one after that, and so on.

Boebert’s case may be the most high-profile example of some freaking out about firearms appearing in a Zoom meeting, but it’s not the first. In each instance, we’ve seen just how unhinged some people can be. No one is being endangered by those firearms, yet they still can’t handle the appearance of those guns.

Well, that and the fact that Boebert isn’t about to roll over for their anti-gun agenda and delights in reminding them of that fact.

Here’s a pro tip for those offended by Boebert’s background: Get over it. The guns on the screen can’t hurt you, so stop being a whiny little baby and get the hell over it.
