Oh Look, Another Socialist Country That’s Rationing Because Socialism Is Straight Trash

H/T Town Hall.

How long before the Cuban people stand up and take back their country?

Venezuela has been a mess for a long time. There are rolling blackouts. The people are starving. People from all social classes are eating out of garbage cans; the educated have now resorted to prostitution for groceries. Even some kids are now selling their bodies for basic supplies. It’s heinous. Zoos are being broken into, where the animals are being slaughtered for meat. Hospitals are reportedly operating under 19thcentury conditions. Basic supplies, like soap and gloves, are in short supply. Medicine is also in short supply. It’s a disaster. Nicolas Maduro, the successor to the late Hugo Chavez, is presiding over the massive collapse of so-called 21st Century Socialism.

In fact, as Katie noted on the Triggered podcast, the actions of Maduro have turned the region against them. With Maduro reportedly losing trust in his military, which was keeping him in power, Cuban forces (or gangs) have been handling the suppressive operations and the beatings to keep the revolution alive. The only problem is that Cuba is also rationing supplies because they’re dumping tons of aid to Venezuela (via CBS News):

The Cuban government announced Friday it is launching widespread rationing of chicken, eggs, rice, beans, soap and other basic products in the face of a grave economic crisis. Commerce Minister Betsy Díaz Velázquez told the state-run Cuban News Agency that various forms of rationing would be employed in order to deal with shortages of staple foods.

Díaz blamed the hardening of the U.S. trade embargo by the Trump administration. Economists give equal or greater blame to a plunge in aid from Venezuela, where the collapse of the state-run oil company has led to a nearly two-thirds cut in shipments of subsidized fuel that Cuba used for power and to earn hard currency on the open market.

Cuba imports roughly two-thirds of its food at an annual cost of more than $2 billion and brief shortages of individual products have been common for years. In recent months, a growing number of products have started to go missing for days or weeks at a time, and long lines have sprung up within minutes of the appearance of scarce products like chicken or flour.

Venezuela has entered the terminal stages of the cancer that is socialism. Cuba could be teetering on a similar fate if they continue to help prop up this quasi-failed state.

Carol Burnett reacts to Tim Conway’s passing: ‘I’m heartbroken’

Carol Burnett is mourning the loss of her beloved co-star Tim Conway.

“I’m heartbroken,” the 86-year-old told Fox News on Tuesday. “He was one in a million, not only as a brilliant comedian but as a loving human being. I cherish the times we had together both on the screen and off. He’ll be in my heart forever.”

Conway, who won four Emmy Awards on “The Carol Burnett Show” has died, according to his publicist. He was 85.

Howard Bragman, who heads LaBrea Media, announced Conway died Tuesday morning after a long illness in Los Angeles.

“The Carol Burnett Show” aired on CBS from 1967-1978. The ensemble cast included Harvey Korman, Vicki Lawrence and Lyle Waggoner. Conway joined the cast as a regular in 1975 after being a frequent guest.

Besides his four Emmys with Burnett, Conway got two more for guest appearances on “Coach” and “30 Rock.”

“It is with the greatest sorrow that my brothers Tim, Patrick, Jamie, Corey, Seann, and I announce that our dad, Tim Conway, has passed away,” his daughter Kelly Conway told Fox News.

“The love he gave us, and the laughter he gave the world will never be replaced, but will be remembered forever,” she continued. “He is at peace now but I will miss him every second of every day until we meet again in heaven. We knew he would have to leave us someday, but that day came too soon. I want to thank everyone for their prayers, love and support over the past year or so.”

Conway’s former publicist and friend Roger Neal was stunned to learn of the tragic passing.

“It was my high honor to represent Tim Conway as his manager and publicist from 2012-2017,” he shared. “The guest star roles I had him do, and the press tour for his NY Times bestselling book, and spending time in his home, were truly some of the best times in my 38-year career. He was off-screen what the world saw on screen.”

“We had so many laughs,” Neal added. “What a pure joy to have had the privilege of working with one of the true masters of comedy. There will never be another one like him. RIP my friend.”

Conway, who was born in Willoughby, Ohio on Dec. 15, 1933, embarked on a fast rise to Hollywood, from a staff job at a Cleveland TV station to a regular gig on the “Steven Allen Show.” He went on to play Ensign Charles Parker on McHale’s Navy in the 1960s, and eventually landed “The Carol Burnett Show,” first starring as a guest in 1967 and then coming to a permanent fixture in 1975.

Conway’s other television credits include “Rango,” “Ace Crawford Private Eye,” “Tim Conway’s Funny America,” three self-titled variety shows, and one sitcom. He’s also recognized as the voice of Barnacle Boy on “SpongeBob SquarePants.” In 2003, Conway and Korman were featured performers on CBS’s 75th-anniversary special. He received an Emmy for his appearance on “30 Rock” in 2008.

Conway’s film career includes “They Went That Way and That Way” and “The Long Shot,” both of which he wrote, along with “The Shaggy D.A.,” “Speed II,” and “Dear God.” But it was his work in a long line of family films – “The World’s Greatest Athlete,” “The Apple Dumpling Gang,” and “The Apple Dumpling Gang Rides Again,” “Gus,” “The Billion Dollar Hobo,” “The Prize Fighter,” and “Private Eyes,” that garnered him the most acclaim. Conway wrote the last three and was frequently paired with Don Knotts for a double dose of comedy highjacks.

“I was born and then I did ‘The Carol Burnett Show’ for 11 years,” Conway previously wrote on his website. “What else is there to know? I have six Emmy’s. Big deal. I am also in The Comedy Hall of Fame, it was a natural since I spent a lot of my time in grade school out in the hall. I went to Bowling Green State University for 11 years.

“A very slow lerner (I proof read my bio). I was in the army (ours) for two years and was in McHales Navy for three years. That is a total of five years of service. My ambition was to be a jockey, but at my weight, even the horses were asking me to get off. I have seven children, two grand children and a puppy. I have been married since 1984, a record for Hollywood. I do not have a serious thought in my head. Enjoy the show.”

Shooters in Colorado School Were Transgender, Trump-Hating, Democrats Who Love Obama

H/T Godfather Politics.

Now we know why this story dropped off of the drive-by media’s radar.

The shooters are left-wing loon tunes.

Every school shooter is a Delusional DemocRat,

The media won’t tell you this, but the two killers who shot up a Colorado high school were liberals. One was transgender, the other a registered Democrat, and both were Trump haters.

The two shooters who rampaged through a K-12 STEM school located in Douglas County were both liberals. Devon Erickson, 18, and a younger student who police first thought was a boy but later found to be a girl, were taken into custody after the shooting.

The named shooter, Devon Erickson, shows all the signs of a left-wing anarchist, Heavy reported.

For instance, he had spray painted “Fuck Society” on the side of his car.

John Fenton

@higuysimjohn

Car towed from suspect’s home apparently has “F*** SOCIETY” spray painted on the side. Also “666” and a what looks like a pentagram sprayed on the hood.

410 people are talking about this

Erickson is also a registered Democrat who hates Christians and Trump and loves Obama.

“You know what I hate? All these Christians who hate gays, yet in the bible, it says in Deuteronomy 17:12-13, if someone doesn’t do what their priest tells them to do, they are supposed to die. It has plenty of crazy stuff like that,” he wrote in one Facebook post a couple years ago. “But all they get out of it is ‘ewwwwww gays.’” In 2015, Erickson put a celebrate pride filter onto a Facebook picture.

Also:

With one post, he wrote, “I’m covered in ink and addicted to pain.” 9News reported that police were expected to search a home owned by James and Stephanie Erickson. Stephanie’s Facebook page was deleted shortly after news broke of the shooting.

Heavy has a ton of more evidence of his leftism.

Finally, the second suspect is a transgender kid, a girl posing as a boy.

The second suspect was not named because she is underage, but Douglas County Sheriff Tony Spurlock said on May 8 that the suspect is a “juvenile female.” The sheriff added, “We originally thought the juvenile was a male by appearance. I did the press release very early on before the detectives were able to get medical… were able to speak to her.”

Further, on the second suspect: The Denver Channel said that “the second suspect, who is a minor, is a transgender male who was in the midst of transitioning from female to male.” The motive, the station alleges, “went beyond bullying and involved revenge and anger towards others at the school,” adding that one suspect “was involved in legal and illegal drug use and had been in therapy.”

Republicans Holding Eric Holder In Contempt Was Different Than Democrats Holding Bill Barr In Contempt. Here’s How.

H/T BarbWire.

This is what the drive-by media will not tell you about these two contempt charges.

No, it’s not because one was in a Republican administration and the other was in a Democrat administration.

There are actual legal differences in the cases, which shows that Democrats are engaging in purely partisan politics in their vote to hold Attorney General William Barr in contempt because he won’t break the law and provide congress with a version of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report that includes unredacted grand jury information.

Over at National Review, Michael McConnell (a former federal appellate judge and Stanford law professor) explains the legal and constitutional differences between the documents former Attorney General Eric Holder refused to turn over as part of a congressional investigation into “Fast and Furious” and Barr refusing to break the law to unredact seven lines in the Mueller report.

First, background: The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), under the Obama administration, provided weapons to Mexican drug cartels in an effort to track illegal gun sales. Instead, the weapons came back into the U.S. and were used to kill Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry. As McConnell wrote after the news of the scandal broke, “Holder’s assistant attorney general sent a letter to Congress declaring that the Obama administration had no knowledge of the operation” — a letter Holder later admitted was false.

A congressional committee demanded Holder’s Department of Justice turn over documents “relating to actions the Department took to silence or retaliate against Fast and Furious whistleblowers,” McConnell noted. When Holder failed to comply with the request, Republicans issued a subpoena. The DOJ continued to withhold the information and said it would only provide the requested documents if the investigation was closed.” In response, Republicans held Holder in contempt while then-House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) defended Holder.

As for Barr, he is barred (pun intended) by law from disclosing the grand jury information. As McConnell wrote:

In the Fast & Furious matter, the Republicans engaged in 15 months of negotiations between the House Committee’s first subpoena on March 30, 2011, and its finding of contempt against Holder on June 19, 2012, repeatedly narrowing its requests in hopes of getting cooperation. The Democrats subpoenaed the unredacted Mueller report on April 19 and voted to hold Barr in contempt three weeks later, on May 8. The vote was entirely on party lines, with every Republican voting against. Even Chairman Nadler seems to recognize that Barr would need to get a court order before he could reveal the grand-jury material, but he held Barr in contempt anyway.

Further, McConnell wrote, the Obama administration made a sweeping claim of “privilege” and the “separation of powers” basically saying they weren’t constitutionally required to respond to congressional subpoenas.

“Contradiction? In 2012, when Holder was resisting a congressional subpoena, the separation of powers precluded compelling production of the subpoenaed documents. Today, resistance — even with a specific legal basis — is a ‘constitutional crisis,’” McConnell wrote.

Democrats didn’t get what they wanted in the Mueller report, and are now simply lashing out wherever they can. They have since turned their attention toward Barr, claiming he is engaging in a cover-up for… completely following the law.

FBI Raids Alabama Terror Camp Connected To Son Of RADICAL Imam

H/T Kerry Picket.com

We have heard little or nothing about this story in the drive-by media.

How many more terror camps are there in America?

Alabama Terror CampA suspected terror training camp in Macon County, Alabama

The FBI uncovered a homegrown terror training camp in Alabama Friday owned by a group of terrorists headed up by the son of Siraj Ibn Wahhaj, an Imam who once caused a stir at the 2012 Democratic National Convention in Charlotte.

This is the second domestic terror training camp in two years that the younger Wahhaj has been connected to

According to Sinclair Broadcasting, the FBI field office in Mobile described the rundown plot of land in Macon County as a “makeshift military-style obstacle course,” on property owned by a small group of jihadists and Wahhaj.

Imam Wahhaj has a curious history and involvement within the political world and radical Islam.

“Just because you’re in a small town or a small state does not mean you might not potentially have individuals engaged in the types of activities that would call into question threats to national security,” Tim Fuhrman, Former Special Agent with the FBI field office in Mobile, said.

The land reportedly appears similar to the terror compound found in New Mexico last year, where federal prosecutors say Wahhaj and four other suspects were teaching children how to carry out terror attacks on American soil. The remains of a child were found on the New Mexico property along with 11 malnourished children.

Wahhaj’s father distanced himself from his son when the New Mexico compound case came to light, claiming he previously cut ties with his son.

Nevertheless, Imam Wahhaj has a curious history and involvement within the political world and radical Islam.

In 1991 he became the first Muslim to ever offer the invocation at the start of the new session of the House of Representatives led by Democrat Speaker Tom Foley.

Two years later, however, the Brooklyn imam was alleged to be a co-conspirator to the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. According to the New York Observer several members of Wahhaj’s Brooklyn mosque were also indicted and he testified in support of them.

Additionally, he testified in support of Sheikh Omar Abdel-Rahman—the anti-American terrorist known as the “blind sheikh.”

Despite the Brooklyn imam’s radical background throughout the years Democrats continued to include him in ceremonies where he is honored in some way.

In 2012, at the DNC Convention in Charlotte, an uproar occurred over Wahhaj when it was found that he was a speaker at what appeared to be a DNC listed event.

Following the backlash, however, a senior host committee official told NBC News, “This event, like many others on the page, was user generated.”

The official went further, “Upon further review, and because speakers for the event and statements and positions from event organizers were not appropriate and relevant to the Host Committee, Charlotte in 2012 has decided to remove the event from our events calendar.”

Two years later, though, Nassau County, New York District Attorney Kathleen Rice, now a Democrat Congresswoman from the area, found herself withdrawing from an event after it was revealed by the Observer she was to speak alongside Wahhaj.

Rice’s spokesman claimed at the time that Rice had only accepted the invitation to appear when Wahhaj was not on the guest list.

Most recently, The Washington Free Beacon reported, then- Democratic Minnesota Congressman Keith Ellison, now Minnesota Attorney General, quietly backed away from a December 2016 Muslim American Society’s annual conference.

He was expected to deliver the keynote address at the event at the time where the speakers included Wahhaj and Abdelfattah Mourou, the founder of the Muslim Brotherhood in Tunisia.

Legendary singer-actress Doris Day dead at 97

R.I.P. Doris Day(Doris Mary Ann Kappelhoff) April 3, 1922 – May 13, 2019.

Doris Day, the perennial girl-next-door whose career as a singer and actress spanned almost 50 years and made her one of the biggest Hollywood stars and most popular entertainers in the United States, has died. She was 97.

The Doris Day Animal Foundation told Fox News Day died early Monday at her Carmel Valley, Calif., home. The foundation said in an emailed statement she was surrounded by close friends and “had been in excellent physical health for her age, until recently contracting a serious case of pneumonia.”

Day was known as a honey-voiced singer and gifted actress whose film dramas, musicals and innocent sex comedies made her a top star in the 1950s and ’60s and among the most popular screen actresses in history.

Day’s lilting voice, wholesome blond beauty and ultra-bright smile brought her a string of hits, first on records and later in Hollywood.

Despite her seemingly perpetually sunny and smiling exterior, Day’s life took a number of tragic turns, including the death of her only child, three divorces and the death of another husband who turned out to have squandered her earnings, leaving her deeply in debt.

Her 1976 tell-all book, “Doris Day: Her Own Story,” chronicled her money troubles and three failed marriages, contrasting with the happy publicity of her Hollywood career.

“I have the unfortunate reputation of being Miss Goody Two-Shoes, America’s Virgin, and all that, so I’m afraid it’s going to shock some people for me to say this, but I staunchly believe no two people should get married until they have lived together,” she wrote.

She never won an Academy Award, but Day was given a Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2004, as George W. Bush declared it “a good day for America when Doris Marianne von Kappelhoff of Evanston, Ohio decided to become an entertainer.”

In later years, she lived quietly near Carmel-by-the-Sea, California, where she was an animal welfare activist and founded the Doris Day Animal Foundation.

Day was associated with any number of recordings, but her most famous and signature song was “Que Sera Sera” (“Whatever Will Be, Will Be”) from Alfred Hitchcock’s 1956 film “The Man Who Knew Too Much.

In  2012 interview with NPR, Day admitted her initial reaction was “I didn’t think it was a good song.” But when it became wildly popular, she said, “I realized maybe it isn’t a favorite song of mine but people loved it. And kids loved it. And it was perfect for the film. So I can’t say it’s a favorite song of mine, but boy, it sure did something.”

Among her other well-known songs were “Secret Love” and “Everybody Loves a Lover.” In movies, Day was Hollywood’s quintessential “girl next door,” with a sometimes sophisticated edge. Her leading men included Rock Hudson, Cary Grant, David Niven, Rex Harrison and James Garner.

In fact, such was her wholesome image, entertainer Oscar Levant, famed for his mordant wit, once said, “I knew Doris Day before she became a virgin.”

Among her most popular films were three romantic comedies she did with Hudson: “Pillow Talk” (1959), which brought her an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress, “Lover Come Back” (1961) and “Send Me No Flowers” (1964).

She also starred in several beloved musicals, including 1953’s “Calamity Jane” and 1957’s “The Pajama Game” as well as comedies like 1960’s “Please Don’t Eat the Daisies” and the drama “Midnight Lace,” also from 1960.

Day reportedly turned down the role of Mrs. Robinson in “The Graduate,” a part that eventually went to Anne Bancroft.

Her last film, “With Six You Get Eggroll,” was released in 1968.

Day was born Doris Mary Ann Kappelhoff on April 3, 1922, in the Evanston neighborhood of Cincinnati, Ohio, and was named in honor of Doris Kenyon, a silent screen star.

As a teenager, while recovering from injuries she suffered in a car crash, Day began to sing along with the radio, showing enough talent that her mother hired a singing teacher. She soon got a job as a girl vocalist with bandleader Barney Rapp, who suggested her last name was too unwieldy for marquees and so she changed it to Day after the song “Day After Day.”

A LIST OF DORIS DAY’S FILMS: FROM ‘THE MAN WHO KNEW TOO MUCH’ TO ‘PILLOW TALK’

Day worked with other bandleaders, including Les Brown, and by early 1945 had released her first hit recording “Sentimental Journey.”

Within three years, she made her first film appearance in “Romance on the High Seas.”

She married four times: to trombonist Al Jorden, saxophonist George Weidler, her manager Martin Melcher and restaurant maître d’ Barry Comden.

Day had one child, Terry Melcher, whose biological father was Jorden but who was adopted by Melcher. Terry Melcher died in 2004 of melanoma. When Martin Melcher died, Day discovered he and his business partner had decimated her earnings and left her in debt.

In her autobiography, Day recalled her son telling her the $20 million she had earned had vanished and she owed around $450,000, mostly for taxes.

Her husband also had committed her to a television series, which she later said she had no interest in doing, but felt obliged to honor Melcher’s agreement. “The Doris Day Show” ran from 1968-73 with “Que Sera Sera” as its theme song.

On losing her son, Day said in 2018: “My son was the love of my life. “We talked every day, and I miss him very much. [But] we can’t change the past. I think you have to get through the bad times to appreciate the good things in life.”

“I’ve had my share of both and I always say, ‘I’m like one of those dolls with the round bottom: If life deals you a blow, you just have to bounce right back!'”

Day’s legacy lasted throughout her life with her business manager and close friend Bob Bashara telling Fox News in 2017 that the star still received hundreds of letters a month and she answered them all.

“A few years ago, we had a big birthday party for her and about 200 fans came to dinner,” Bashara told us. “Even though she doesn’t really make public appearances very often, she did that night. She made sure to greet everyone who attended.”

Over the years, Day had been asked to come out of retirement and scripts were sent her way. And while Bashara said at the time that Day was not interested in returning to the spotlight, she had not given up on her love for music.

“She loves singing,” insisted Bashara. “She sings around the house a lot and her voice is terrific. We keep telling her she could record again if she wanted to. But she’ll say, ‘Oh, I’m rusty.”

Illinois residents could be charged $1,000 a year to own an electric vehicle under new legislation

H/T Fox News.

Electric car owners thought they were going to avoid paying high gasoline taxes and that may be true until now.

It seems that politicians in Illinois have discovered that the gas tax was not being paid by electric car owners but this bill will hit the electric car owners in the wallet instead of the gas tax hitting them in the wallet.

The owners of gasoline-powered car will not have a reason to celebrate this as they will be getting hit with a new gasoline tax.

States with lower gas taxes will see more Illinois car-owners close to their borders buying gas in their states.

Electric car owners in Illinois could take a large hit to their bank accounts after lawmakersproposed an extreme hike in registration fees for electronic vehicles in the state.

The proposal would raise the annual registration fee to $1,000, more than 57 times the current amount of $17.50.

Illinois officials believe the legislation will raise $2.4 billion for future projects, the major one being roadway improvement, according to the Chicago Tribune.

The bill was introduced last week by Chicago state Sen. Martin Sandoval, a Democrat who says the registration fee hike is imperative to help fund necessary infrastructure improvements.

“Capital bills in Springfield are like the second coming of the cicadas — every 10 years — and that’s not the way to go in regards to funding our infrastructure,” Sandoval told NPR Illinois. “This is a transformational model. And hopefully, when we get done with passing this sustainable capital bill, we won’t have to have another press conference like this 10 years from now.”

The bill would also make things more expensive for residents who drive non-electric cars. The state’s gas tax would go up 19 cents to 44 cents a gallon, fees for driver’s licenses would double and the registration fee for non-electric vehicles would go up nearly 50% from $98 to $148.

“It’s outrageous,” Tesla owner Nicoletta Skarlatos, 56, told the Chicago Tribune. “I thought Illinois was progressive and would want to encourage EV (electric vehicle) ownership.”

The reason for the extreme hikes are that electric vehicles don’t provide the state any gas tax revenue. Electric vehicle companies Tesla and Rivian say they’re against the legislation.

“Imposing fees on EVs that are over 400 percent more than their gasoline-powered counterparts is not only unfair, it discourages promising new technology that will reduce our dependence on petroleum, reduce emissions, and promote the Illinois economy,” Rivian spokesman Michael McHale told the Chicago Tribune.

Sandoval says people who drive hybrids and plug-in electric hybrids won’t have to pay the higher registration fee.

This isn’t the first time Illinois used a new program to raise additional funds from local residents.

From 2010-2015, 1.2 million motorists in Chicago received 1.5 million tickets as part of the city’s red-light and speed camera programs. Residents filed a class action lawsuit, alleging the programs violated the rights of over a million people after the city took more than $285 million, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. The city agreed to settle, with the average resident getting about $36.62. Those who had already paid their tickets before the lawsuit were out of luck.

Officials hope the new gas and electric hikes raise eight times the amount of the red-light and speed camera programs.

Illinois was seventh in electronic vehicle sales last year and there are about 15,000 registered in the state. Over 200,000 electric vehicles were sold last year, about two percent of total U.S auto sales, according to Jenny Acevedo, an analyst with auto research firm Edmund.

“Every automaker has broadcast loud and clear that the future of automotive is autonomous and electric,” Acevedo told the Chicago Tribune. “Certainly, going from $17.50 to $1,000 in terms of registration isn’t going to move the needle in the direction the industry is hoping.”

James Comey Didn’t Know Whether Dossier Claims Were True – Yet Still Used Info in FISA Applications

H/T Breitbart.

I am waiting to see this smug bastard getting perp-walked.

NEW YORK — Disgraced former FBI Director James Comey conceded that when it came to details inside the infamous anti-Trump dossier his FBI “didn’t know whether they were true or false.”

Yet in late October 2016, Comey signed the first of three successful FISA applications to obtain warrants to spy on Trump campaign adviser Carter Page. The second and third were renewal applications since a FISA warrant must be renewed every 90 days.

All three applications reportedly cited as key evidence against Page the dossier produced by the controversial Fusion GPS firm which was paid for its anti-Trump work by Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign and the Democratic National Committee via the Perkins Coie law firm.  The dossier was authored by ex-British spy Christopher Steele.

According to Republican House characterizations, the FISA applications signed by Comey withheld key information raising questions about the dossier, including that it was financed by Clinton and the DNC and had known credibility issues.

Speaking at a CNN town hall event that aired on Thursday night, Comey said the “bureau began an effort after we got the Steele dossier to try and see how much of it we could replicate. That work was ongoing when I was fired.”

Yet aside from the general charge that Russia was seeking to interfere in the election, there were questions about the other dossier claims, he said, seemingly referring to the portions that sought to link Trump campaign officials to Russia.

Comey stated:

Some of it was consistent with our other intelligence, the most important part. The Steele dossier said the Russians are coming for the American election. It’s a huge effort. It has multiple goals that I laid out for the audience. And that was true.

There were a lot of spokes off of that that we didn’t know whether they were true or false, and we were trying to figure out what we could make of it.

Bruce Ohr, a career Justice Department official, admitted in testimony released in March that he informed the FBI that the anti-Trump dossier was tied to Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign.

Ohr testified that he further warned his FBI superiors that the dossier information was likely “biased” against Trump and that he thought Steele was “desperate that Trump not be elected.”

Ohr revealed that he spoke to the FBI about the role of Fusion GPS in producing the dossier, and informed the agency that his wife, Nellie Ohr, worked at the time for Fusion GPS.

Critically, Ohr said that he transmitted all of that information in the time period before the FBI under James Comey certified the FISA application to obtain a warrant to conduct surveillance on Carter Page, a former adviser to President Trump’s 2016 campaign. Comey signed the first FISA application in late October 2016.

Ohr’s testimony raises numerous immediate issues for the FBI and separately for Comey.

Comey’s FISA application to conduct surveillance did not specifically state that the FBI had information that Steele was being paid in connection with any U.S. political party, according to House documents and the redacted FISA application itself.

The application also did not say that the FBI was provided with any information that would raise issues of bias concerning Steele. Instead, Comey’s FISA application stated generally that “the FBI speculates” that Steele “was likely looking for information that could be used to discredit” Trump’s campaign — a far cry from informing the court that the dossier utilized as central evidence against Page in the FISA warrant was paid for by Trump’s primary political opponents, namely Clinton and the Democratic National Committee (DNC).

The phraseology that the FBI “speculates” on possible bias is at odds with Ohr’s testimony that he directly told the FBI about several possible avenues of bias and that he had reason to believe Steele himself was biased.

In other words, Comey may have kept from the FISA court information that would at a minimum raise major questions about the dossier charges that were cited as key evidence against Page in the FISA applications.

The House Intelligence Committee memo released last February documented that Comey’s FISA applications did not disclose the information tying Clinton and the DNC to the dossier.

“Neither the initial application in October 2016, nor any of the renewals, disclose or reference the role of the DNC, Clinton campaign, or any party/campaign in funding Steele’s efforts, even though the political origins of the Steele dossier were then known to senior and FBI officials,” the memo states.

Democrats on the House Intelligence Committee released a rebuttal of the House memo that confirms the key contention that the FBI and DOJ both failed to inform the FISA court that Steele’s dossier was funded by Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign and the Democratic National Committee (DNC) via the Perkins Coie law firm.

The Democratic memo quotes a footnote from the FISA application, which says that Steele:

was approached by an identified U.S. person who indicated to Source #1 [Steele] that a U.S.-based law firm had hired the identified U.S. person to conduct research regarding Candidate #1’s ties to Russia. (The identified U.S. person and Source #1 have a long-standing business relationship.) The identified U.S. person hired Source #1 to conduct this research. The identified U.S. person never advised Source #1 as to the motivation behind the research into candidate #1’s ties to Russia. The FBI speculates that the identified U.S. person was likely looking for information that could be used to discredit Candidate #1’s campaign.

That footnote, which does not inform the court of the dossier’s ties to the DNC, Clinton campaign or Fusion GPS, was further confirmed when the Trump administration released a redacted version of the FISA applications last July.

WOW: OCASIO-CORTEZ STARTS COVERING HER TRACKS AFTER FACING POSSIBLE CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION

H/T Three Percenter Nation.

Alexandria Occasional-Cortex is reacting like a typical swamp monster.

New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is running scared and working to cover her tracks now that the walls are closing in on her.

It started when journalist Luke Thompson discovered that the 29-year-old’s boyfriend had a campaign email address.

Ocasio-Cortez insisted that he only had the campaign email address for the purpose of checking her calendar and was not on her staff.

But then it was discovered that her boyfriend did have a job working for her chief of staff during the campaign.

And on Monday it was discovered that that same chief of staff appears to have moved $1 million from a PAC he and Ocasio-Cortez run to his private companies.

Not to mention the fact that a campaign is not supposed to have any ties to the PACs that support the

Both Ocasio-Cortez and her campaign manager Saikat Chakrabarti could be facing some significant prison time if they are guilty

And now in an effort to cover her tracks apparently, she has gotten rid of the original email address that started the investigating.

“Fun fact: his email address no longer exists. Guess he doesn’t need calendar access anymore, eh @AOC?” Thompson wrote.

Watchdog group National Legal and Policy Center’s Government Integrity Project has filed a complaint with the Federal Elections Commission.

The Washington Examiner reported.

Chakrabarti’s campaigns raised $3.3 million and diverted more than $1 million to his companies, the Washington Examiner reported.

He helped found both Brand New Congress PAC and Justice Democrats, with the goal of bringing new and progressive members like Ocasio-Cortez, a self-described Democratic socialist, to Congress.

After starting Brand New Congress, he formed a Delaware-based LLC, Brand New Campaign LLC. Shifting the funds avoided detailed disclosure requirements of itemized expenses.

“None of that makes any sense,” former FEC lawyer Adav Noti of the Campaign Legal Center told the publication. “I can’t even begin to disentangle that. They’re either confused or they’re trying to conceal something.”

Ocasio-Cortez responded to an inquiry from The Washington Times on Monday in her usual defiant manner.

“He’s not on my payroll. They were not working for me and they are two separate entities here,” she said. “This is the difference between an LLC and a PAC.”

But she is in her own jam with some chicanery that was done between the PACs and her campaign for Congress, as we reported.

New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her chief of staff Saikat Chakrabarti could be facing prison time for a major campaign finance violation.

The two were running a PAC that supported her campaign in the 2018 election which is a major no no and now they could be forced to pay the consequences, The Daily Caller reported.

Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her chief of staff Saikat Chakrabarti obtained majority control of Justice Democrats PAC in December 2017, according to archived copies of the group’s website, and the two appear to retain their control of the group, according to corporate filings obtained by The Daily Caller News Foundation. If the Federal Election Commission (FEC) finds that the New York Democrat’s campaign operated in affiliation with the PAC, which had raised more than $1.8 million before her June 2018 primary, it would open them up to “massive reporting violations, probably at least some illegal contribution violations exceeding the lawful limits,” former FEC commissioner Brad Smith said.

Ocasio-Cortez never disclosed to the FEC that she and Chakrabarti, who served as her campaign chair, controlled the PAC while it was simultaneously supporting her primary campaign, and former FEC commissioners say the arrangement could lead to multiple campaign finance violations. The group backed 12 Democrats during the 2018 midterms, but Ocasio-Cortez was the only one of those to win her general election.

Former FEC Commissioner Hans von Spakovsky told The Daily Caller News Foundation “If the facts as alleged are true, and a candidate had control over a PAC that was working to get that candidate elected, then that candidate is potentially in very big trouble and may have engaged in multiple violations of federal campaign finance law, including receiving excessive contributions.”

And another former commissioner of the FEC, Brad Smith, said if “a complaint were filed, I would think it would trigger a serious investigation.”

“At minimum, there’s a lot of smoke there, and if there are really only three board members and she and [Chakrabarti] are two of them, sure looks like you can see the blaze,” Smith said. “I don’t really see any way out of it.”

Smith also told the DCNF that both Ocasio-Cortez and Chakrabarti could face serious fines and significant prison time if a complaint is filed.

“It looks like the campaign and PAC are under common control and the PAC was funding campaign staff and activities as an alter-ego of the campaign committee, which would be a blatant abuse of the PAC rules,” Charlie Spies, a Republican election attorney, said.

Justice Democrats stated on its website from December 2017 until two weeks after Ocasio-Cortez’s June 2018 primary victory that she and Chakrabarti held “legal control” of the PAC, and corporate filings obtained by TheDCNF show that the two still serve on the three-member board of Justice Democrats on paper.

Political committees are affiliated if they are “established, financed, maintained or controlled by … the same person or group of persons,” federal election law states.

Ocasio-Cortez credits Justice Democrats for recruiting her to run for Congress in May 2017. She tweeted that the group got her campaign up and running by helping “with all that stuff a normal person would need (what forms to fill out? etc).”

Ocasio-Cortez paid a combined $27,293 to Justice Democrats and to what was effectively its predecessor, Brand New Congress LLC, for administrative, staffing and overhead services from the time she declared her candidacy to her shock primary victory, according to FEC records. Ocasio-Cortez only began paying her staffers directly through her campaign beginning in March 2018, according to her campaign reports.

BOMBSHELL: FBI Lied About Steele Dossier to FISA Court, False Intel & Media Contacts Flagged Prior

H/T Flag And Cross.

President Trump needs to declassify the FISA application warrants and get the liars on their way to jail.

WELL, WELL, WELL!!

The gratuitously bogus Steele dossier is back in the news.

Did you see that coming in May 2019?

Well, here’s the latest…

From The Hill:

It is important to note that the FBI swore on Oct. 21, 2016, to the FISA judges that Steele’s “reporting has been corroborated and used in criminal proceedings” and the FBI has determined him to be “reliable” and was “unaware of any derogatory information pertaining” to their informant, who simultaneously worked for Fusion GPS, the firm paid by the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and the Clinton campaign to find Russian dirt on Trump.

[…]

Newly unearthed memos show a high-ranking government official who met with Steele in October 2016 determined some of the Donald Trump dirt that Steele was simultaneously digging up for the FBI and for Hillary Clinton’s campaign was inaccurate, and likely leaked to the media.

Bad enough, right?

But hold your horses!

There’s plenty more to go…

The concerns were flagged in a typed memo and in handwritten notes taken by Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Kathleen Kavalec on Oct. 11, 2016.

Her observations were recorded exactly 10 days before the FBI used Steele and his infamous dossier to justify securing a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrant to spy on Trump campaign adviser Carter Page and the campaign’s contacts with Russia in search of a now debunked collusion theory.

[…]

But it is almost certain the FBI knew of Steele’s contact with State and his partisan motive. That’s because former Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland says she instructed her staff to send the information they got from Steele to the bureau immediately and to cease contact with the informer because “this is about U.S. politics, and not the work of — not the business of the State Department, and certainly not the business of a career employee who is subject to the Hatch Act.”
