Obama: Anyone Can Buy Gun Anytime They Want

H/T Bearing Arms.

In spite of what Bathhouse Barry Obama says not just anyone can buy a gun when they want.

You must fill out form 4473 and pass the background check.

Then if you wish to purchase an automatic weapon you pay major fees and must undergo an extensive background that is done by the federal government.

You do not just go to the local gun shop and walk out with a machine gun in spite of what Bathhouse Barry Obama has to say.

Guns are one of the most tightly controlled items available for sale in the nation. While medications require a doctor’s prescription, they don’t require a background check, and in many cases, don’t even require you to show an ID. Further, someone else can pick up your prescription with a few exceptions.

With guns, you have to have a background check as well as fill out a questionnaire under penalty of perjury. If the background check gets stalled, you have to wait for days before you can complete your purchase.

Further, in many states, I have to go through this even for a transaction between private parties.

But former President Barack Obama, speaking in Brazil, seems to think that American gun laws are outright non-existent.

Former President Barack Obama slammed U.S. gun laws on Thursday while speaking an event in Brazil, telling the audience that the laws “don’t make much sense” and claimed that “anybody can buy any weapon any time.”

Obama began by recalling the “most difficult day” in office was the aftermath of the 2012 Sandy Hook massacre that left 26 dead, including 20 young children in Newtown, Conn.

“My daughters were only a little bit older than these young children that have been shot, and I had to go and comfort the parents,” Obama said. “And some of you may be aware our gun laws in the United States don’t make much sense. Anybody can buy any weapon any time…”

That sparked loud applause from the Brazilian audience.

“You know, without much, if any, regulation,” he continued. “They can buy it over the Internet, they can buy machine guns. And for me, having to speak to parents who have lost a child, just two days or a day after it had happened, and not being able to assure them that that would change, that we would fix this — I couldn’t bring their children back, but I couldn’t even promise them that we would change the law so this didn’t happen to somebody else’s children.”

Critics blasted the former president, accusing him of “lying” about U.S. gun laws.

And that, of course, is because he was lying.

Look, Obama knows more about American gun laws than he wants to let on. He knows damn good and well that you can’t buy a gun over the internet, that such a purchase has to go through a licensed gun dealer who will conduct the federally-required background check. He knows that machine guns are tightly controlled and due to the plethora of laws around them are out of reach for the average law-abiding citizen.

Now, I’ll argue that one thing he says touches on reality. Anybody can buy any weapon any time…but not legally. To conduct those kinds of sales, you have to delve into the black market. There, if you can find someone with a machine gun to sell and have the money, you can buy it. Plain and simple.

That’s not the norm, though. Buying a machine gun legally requires a rather lengthy process that starts with local law enforcement, then goes on to the federal government. You need law enforcement’s permission before you can purchase such a weapon and it’s not an overnight process by any stretch of the imagination.

Obama’s comments don’t even cover the more common variety of firearms. Guns can’t be sold to “anybody,” as Obama alleges. They can’t be sold to convicted felons, those found to be domestic abusers or those who have been “adjudicated as mentally defective.” Anyone under a restraining order is legally barred from buying a firearm as well.

“Anybody” can’t buy guns.

The former president knows this. He has to. There’s no way he missed the mountains of criticism that befell him after he commented that it was easier to get a gun than a book in many places. While I’m sure his staff tried to keep him pretty sheltered from the criticism, he couldn’t miss it all, especially from friendly publications like the Washington Post.

And yet, he’s doubling down on that earlier lie.

The one saving grace is that as a former president, he has virtually no power. He may be influential with the Democratic base, who already agrees with him and thus can’t be swayed. He’s persona non grata as far as the Right is concerned, and therefore isn’t likely to sway anyone there. His only real power is that he has exactly one vote during elections.

He can spout off with this nonsense all he wants, but he can’t change reality.

Federal Judge Block President’s Border Wall in Stunning Decision

H/T Flag And Cross.

This does not surprise me as U.S. District Judge Haywood Gilliam Jr was appointed by Bathhouse Barry Obama.

Donald Trump will NOT be happy.

From the very moment that Donald Trump stepped onto the political scene in America, the southern border was on the top of his list of priorities.

Trump has long recognized that our immigration system is broken, and his hopes to build a “big, beautiful” wall on the southern border show that.  Of course, the democrats have insisted that this physical barrier is unnecessary and possibly even racist, in a bit of resistance rhetoric that flies directly in the face of their own previous views on the matter.

The President insists that the border wall will help funnel would-be asylum seekers and immigrants to safer, legal access to America, eliminating the dangerous, cross-desert journey that many face.

A federal judge today has thrown another wrench in the gears of the President’s plan today, however.

A federal judge in California has blocked President Donald Trump from building sections of his long-sought border wall with money secured under his declaration of a national emergency.

U.S. District Judge Haywood Gilliam Jr. on Friday immediately halted the administration’s efforts to redirect military-designated funds to build sections of wall on the Mexican border.

His order applies to two planned projects to add 51 miles of fence in two areas.

The fight over border wall funding could easily find its way to the Supreme Court, given how adamant the administration has been regarding the subject.

Obama Took Hillary’s 2016 Loss Personally

H/T The Lid.

BathHouse Barry Obama knew the Hildabeast would be his third and fourth terms.

BathHouse Barry knew the Hildabeast would double down on his failed policies and further destroy any greatness America had left.

NY Times WH Reporter Peter Baker updated his book  ‘Obama: The Call Of History’ to take the Obama presidency through the end. Part of the update was a new section about the 2016 election. That part of the update was covered by The Daily Mail and is shocking. Barack Obama placed the blame for Hillary Clinton’s 2016 loss on someone I haven’t heard any other Democrat blame—Hillary Clinton.

To Obama and his team, however, the real blame lay squarely with Clinton. She was the one who could not translate his strong record and healthy economy into a winning message.

Healthy economy? Was Barack Obama stoned or something? What we have now is a healthy economy, what we had when he was POTUS was a stagnant lousy economy.

Baker continued:

‘Never mind that Trump essentially ran the same playbook against Clinton that Obama did eight years earlier, portraying her as a corrupt exemplar of the status quo.

‘She brought many of her troubles on herself. No one forced her to underestimate the danger in the Midwest states of Wisconsin and Michigan.

No one forced her to set up a private email server that would come back to haunt her.

‘No one forced her to take hundreds of thousands of dollars from Goldman Sachs and other pillars of Wall Street for speeches.

‘No one forced her to run a scripted, soulless campaign that tested eighty-five slogans before coming up with ‘Stronger Together’.

Baker also reported that Obama felt that Trump was a faker and he considered Hillary’s loss a personal insult.  Which is understandable because Obama always thought that it was all about him. But never fear Mr. Ex-President, when people were voting for Trump we weren’t only insulting you, but we were insulting Hillary also.

Baker writes that Obama woke up on the morning of November 8, 2016, convinced he would ‘not be handing the nuclear football over to Donald Trump – the reality television star, he thought, was a joke’.

Obama arrogantly thought there was ‘no way Americans would turn on him’ even though Clinton was far from perfect.

Baker writes: ‘She was a serious and seasoned professional who had served at the highest levels of government and provided mature leadership. Just as important, she would continue his policies and cement his biggest achievements.

‘His legacy, he felt, was in safe hands’.

Given that Obama had no formal role in the election he went to the White House movie theater with his wife Michelle and adviser Valerie Jarrett where they watched Dr. Strange, the superhero movie starring Benedict Cumberbatch.

Gotta give the (thankfully) former president some credit. He has good taste in movies. While it wasn’t the best of the Marvel movies, it was undoubtedly a great flick.

Baker writes that Obama’s phone buzzed with an update and he said: ‘Huh. Results in Florida are looking kind of strange’.

Michelle went to bed early but as Obama watched TV he looked on in horror as Trump won Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Michigan which had been Democratic for years.

Baker writes: ‘By the end of the evening, the unthinkable had happened’.

Obama struggled with what the American people had done and thought to himself that they ‘simply could not have decided to replace him with a buffoonish showman whose calling cards had been repeated bankruptcies, serial marriages and racist dog whistles’.

No, Mr. Obama, we replaced you, a lousy president, with an excellent one.

‘Obama may not have been on the ballot, but it was hard not to see the vote as a ‘personal insult,’ as he had called it on the campaign trail. ‘This stings,’ he said. ‘This hurts’.

Well, good! You deserved the ‘sting.’ The message America was giving you was after eight years of a president who didn’t care about American citizens, only his leftist ideology, we wanted a POTUS who actually listened to America. But he still didn’t “get it.” Per Baker, Obama even likened himself to Michael Corleone in the Godfather movies and said he was handing power over to somebody who would destroy his legacy.

Which legacy? A stagnant economy, the rise of ISIS, eight years of Antisemitism, increased healthcare insurance costs with much higher deductibles, spying on a Republican presidential campaign, higher taxes, creating an economy where people gave up and dropped out of the workforce,  using American taxpayer money to try and defeat the incumbent Israeli Prime Minister, so many restrictions on operating a business that they refused to invest in their companies or workers? Those are some examples of his legacy.

Donald Trump isn’t destroying Obama’s legacy, he is fixing Obama’s eight years of screwing up.  If that stings Barack Obama…well, the truth hurts.

FANTASTIC: Trump Ready to Dump 31 Times More Obama Regulations Than Last Year

H/T Godfather Politics.

Candidate Trump promised to cut oppressive government regulations and President Donald J.Trump is making good on those promises.

The Trump administration has already become amazing at putting an end to Obama’s onerous and anti-growth regulations, but this year the administration says it is on track to eliminating up to 31 times more Obama regulations than last year.

According to the Washington Examiner:

With plans to cut $18 billion worth of regulations in fiscal year 2019, which ends in September, the administration is poised to boost that to $33 billion, according to a mid-year review by the budget watchdog American Action Forum.

What’s more, the administration is moving toward a regulatory cut that the review said would cut an additional $561 billion, 31 times this year’s goal.

While the Trump administration is behind on its promised eliminations of Obama regulation for this year so far, the plans have been set in motion to up the game.

According to analysts Dan Bosch and Dan Goldbeck, Trump’s agencies are a bit behind.

President Trump on the 2016 campaign trail and in his administration has made slashing government regulations a key goal. He set in place a rule demanding that two regulations be cut for every new one proposed. The administration has actually surpassed that goal.

In their review, Bosch and Goldbeck found that most federal agencies are behind their regulation cutting goals.

They attribute the boost in costs to the paperwork burden in the 2017 tax cut and the creation of a new “National Bioengineered Food Disclosure Standard.”

Still, plans are in motion for a big uptick this year:

“Despite the current net cost figure, the administration appears poised to see net savings on the back end of FY 2019. The overwhelmingly largest component of the upcoming deregulation is the Environmental Protection Agency’s expected repeal of the ‘Clean Power Plan,’ with $51.6 billion in currently estimated total ‘avoided costs.’ Other rules with notable cost reductions include a pair of significant rules also affecting energy production as well as the first stage of the administration’s reconsideration of the ‘Water of the United States’ rule,” said the review.

And there is one BIG cut that the pair did not include in their study:

Said Bosch and Goldbeck, “One massive deregulatory action is not included in this study’s projection. The Safer Affordable Fuel-Efficient Vehicles Rule, proposed jointly by the DOT and the EPA, was published in August 2018 and was scheduled to be finalized in March 2019. Though the agencies missed that date, they still may finalize the rule by the end of FY 2019. As proposed, the rule would result in an estimated $563.6 billion in total savings – an amount that would cover the entire FY 2019 regulatory budget more than 31 times.”

The administration did succeed in reducing regulations by tens of millions of dollars in 2017.

As Forbes reported last year, “the Trump administration fiscal-year updates report to have eliminated 134 significant rules (57 plus 67). However, additional eliminations have occurred of rules not officially considered ‘significant,’ as well as eliminations of agency guidance documents argued to have regulatory effect.”

Still, with thousands of Obama holdovers still infesting the federal government, too many regulations are still being proposed. So, Trump’s imputes to cut regulations is still not fully adopted by the federal government. Regardless, he done more cutting than any president in recent history.

Myth Of Obama’s ‘Scandal-Free’ Presidency Evaporates With Foreign Lobbying Indictment

H/T Clash Daily.

Bathhouse Barry Obama’s scandals Benghazi, Fast And Furious, The IRS Targeting Conservatives, Eric Holder’s perjury to just name a few scandals.

How long after this will it be until Biden regrets bragging about forcing Ukraine to fire their version of the AG?

‘Not a smidgen of corruption’. Isn’t that what Obama told us?

Between the indictments being handed down for Obama’s own Council for lying about foreign lobbying, and the case Barr is opening up to whether the spying on Trump’s campaign was warranted or not, how history is going remember his supposedly squeaky-clean presidency is about to go through some serious changes.

Let’s start with the charges:

Gregory Craig, who was White House counsel under President Barack Obama, was indicted Thursday on charges of lying and hiding information related to his work for Ukraine.

Craig, a 74-year-old lawyer based in Washington, D.C., was charged by the Justice Department’s Foreign Agents Registration Act, or FARA, unit. Craig faces up to five years in prison for each of the two counts.

The charges stem from the federal investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election led by special counsel Robert Mueller, which came to a formal end last month.

Ukraine, eh?

A Clinton lawyer has connections there, too. He’s the same guy that represented Trump’s disgraced and prison-bound lawyer, Michael Cohen:

Cohen’s Lawyer Isn’t Just Close With The Clintons — He’s A Registered Foreign Agent For A Pro-Putin Oligarch

Or some rather inconvenient Hillary stories:

Yo, CNN: Hillary Sided With Russia On Sanctions As Bill Made $500K For Speech In Moscow — Is That News?

Ukrainian efforts to sabotage Trump backfireKiev officials are scrambling to make amends with the president-elect after quietly working to boost Clinton.:

Ukrainian government officials tried to help Hillary Clinton and undermine Trump by publicly questioning his fitness for office. They also disseminated documents implicating a top Trump aide in corruption and suggested they were investigating the matter, only to back away after the election. And they helped Clinton’s allies research damaging information on Trump and his advisers, a Politico investigation found.

And coming back to Joe Biden:

Two years after leaving office, Joe Biden couldn’t resist the temptation last year to brag to an audience of foreign policy specialists about the time as vice president that he strong-armed Ukraine into firing its top prosecutor.

In his own words, with video cameras rolling, Biden described how he threatened Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko in March 2016 that the Obama administration would pull $1 billion in U.S. loan guarantees, sending the former Soviet republic toward insolvency, if it didn’t immediately fire Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin.

…“Well, son of a bitch, he got fired. And they put in place someone who was solid at the time,” Biden told the Council on Foreign Relations event, insisting that President Obama was in on the threat.

…But Ukrainian officials tell me there was one crucial piece of information that Biden must have known but didn’t mention to his audience: The prosecutor he got fired was leading a wide-ranging corruption probe into the natural gas firm Burisma Holdings that employed Biden’s younger son, Hunter, as a board member.

U.S. banking records show Hunter Biden’s American-based firm, Rosemont Seneca Partners LLC, received regular transfers into one of its accounts — usually more than $166,000 a month — from Burisma from spring 2014 through fall 2015, during a period when Vice President Biden was the main U.S. official dealing with Ukraine and its tense relations with Russia. —The Hill

Surely the Democrats wouldn’t object to a corruption probe looking into the international dealings of elected officials and high-ranking public servants over, say, the last 15 years to root out any international quid-pro-quos that might have run contrary to American interests?

After all, there is a shocking number of those who, after going through DC, are somehow able to parlay the humble role of public servant into a seven-, eight- or even 10-figure net worth?
